The Technics SL-1500C uses a coreless direct-drive motor for high rotational accuracy, strong drive torque and cogging-free operation, combined with a rigid chassis engineered to suppress motor-induced and structural vibration. The integrated phono equalizer and factory-fitted Ortofon 2M Red MM cartridge create a complete analog playback system capable of direct connection to line-level inputs without requiring an external phono stage.

Its tonearm incorporates a non-motorized Auto Lifter that raises the cartridge at the end of the record without introducing additional electrical or mechanical interference into the arm mechanism. The overall architecture prioritizes low-noise signal extraction, mechanical stability and long-term reliability, while retaining a simplified direct-drive design with minimal maintenance requirements.
