Universal, simple form
The Tesi 2 model has an appropriately reinforced MDF enclosure while maintaining a simple and versatile form. The dimensions of the speaker remain unchanged compared to its predecessor. The bass reflex port, located at the back of the column, just like in the Tesi 241, allows emphasizing low-frequency playback if needed (by placing closer to the wall). A new addition is the trim ring covering the mid-woofer driver basket. The Tesi 2 also features a magnetically attached grille. The overall design is complemented by the gently rounded upper edges of the enclosure, emphasizing the universal appearance of the speaker.
The new front panel of the tweeter
The high-frequency transducer in the Tesi 2 features a 26 mm diameter, a radial damping chamber, and a powerful neodymium magnet. Compared to the Tesi 241 model, the front shape of the tweeter has been modified. Instead of being round, it is now rectangular, reminiscent of the top constructions from the Diva line of the Indiana Line brand. The front of the Tesi 2 speaker column, however, has been executed in a simpler, fully-smooth mounting technique, providing proper dispersion of sopranos. The applied front design enhances the visual harmony between the tweeter and the mounted low-midrange speaker below, simultaneously elevating the aesthetic qualities of the Tesi 2 model.
Improved midwoofer
The 2-way system utilizes a low-midrange transducer with a 12 cm diameter polypropylene-mica composite membrane. The midwoofer has been optimized using modern design methods, featuring a larger and stronger magnet compared to the one used in the Tesi 241. One of the key components of the low-midrange transducer is the inductance linearizing ring. Additionally, the dust cap on the membrane deserves attention, replacing the phase corrector known from the Tesi 241 model and other constructions of the previous Tesi series generation. The components used contribute to achieving a low level of distortion and improved dynamics of the low-frequency range. As a result, the bass is clear and deep, and the sound is more articulate and richer in details, even at high volumes. This can be quite surprising given the compact dimensions of the speaker.
Dual-Wave suspension
In the midwoofer of the Tesi 2 model, an innovative Dual-Wave suspension has been implemented, visually reminiscent of stage speakers with accordion-like suspensions. This solution is introduced in the new generation of the Diva series. The Dual-Wave suspension was developed to extend the linear operating range of the low-midrange transducer and minimize intermodulation distortion, especially in the low registers. This enhancement also translates into improved clarity in the midrange frequencies, particularly noticeable during the reproduction of percussion, acoustic, and string instrument sounds.
Enhanced crossover design
The speaker crossover in the stand-mounted Tesi 2 column has been improved compared to the one used in the Tesi 241 model. It has been optimized using modern design methods and specialized measurement systems. The topology of the crossover is inspired by solutions already known in the new models belonging to the Diva line of the Indiana Line brand. Designers maintained the same quality of components, ensuring a smooth impedance characteristic, high efficiency, low distortion levels, and effective sound dispersion. These features enable the compact Tesi 2 to seamlessly collaborate with virtually any amplifier, including within a stereo mini-system
