The Hegel A200 is a fully analog Class A/B integrated amplifier delivering 2 × 150W into 8Ω, with stable operation down to 2Ω loads and a damping factor above 4000. Its output stage uses Hegel SoundEngine2 error-cancellation technology to suppress distortion dynamically within the amplification process, resulting in very low output impedance, high current capability and precise control of demanding loudspeaker loads.

The signal path is intentionally analog, with two balanced XLR inputs, two unbalanced RCA inputs, one variable RCA output and one fixed RCA output. The integrated MM phono stage is derived from the Moving Magnet section of Hegel’s V10 and uses selected FET devices and precision amplification circuitry. Frequency response extends from 5Hz to 100kHz, signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 100dB, crosstalk is below -100dB and THD is below 0.01% at 50W into 8Ω at 1kHz.

The A200 is engineered as a high-current analog control amplifier rather than an all-in-one digital platform, keeping DAC and streaming circuitry outside the chassis to minimize internal electrical interference. Additional functions include a dedicated headphone output, configurable fixed-level input for home-theater integration, programmable startup and maximum volume limits, TV-remote volume learning and automatic standby, all implemented around a low-noise analog architecture focused on load stability and signal integrity.
